May 19th. Disease Recognition Course

Hurry all Welsh Beekeepers.

Disease Recognition Course - Comb Workshop - FREE but limited places.

Revised and updated, this workshop on disease recognition will help participants to develop their knowledge, understanding and diagnosis of the key disease threats to their bees. A formal presentation will explore the characteristics of notifiable diseases, European Foul Brood and American Foul Brood, and non-notifiable diseases including Varroa, Nosema, acarine and viruses. The emphasis will then become practical, allowing participants to examine diseased comb and microscope samples, including their own. A concluding discussion will encourage participants to consider how best to apply both the theory and practice of disease recognition, as well as prevention techniques, in the coming season.

To be held on the 19th May at Parc Slip Nature Reserve.

You are very welcome to bring combs along on the day.
